Out of Africa

7 Days: Nairobi – Laikipia – Masai Mara

Home » Tours & Safaris » Out of Africa
This special itinerary allows you to explore two unique areas of Kenya that perfectly encompass its diverse wildlife, dramatic scenery, and fascinating culture, in the spirit of Karen Blixen’s “Out of Africa.” Most importantly, you’ll be staying at two lodges that are at the forefront of conservation efforts.
Your journey begins with a private charter flight from Nairobi to the Laikipia Plateau, which is home to woodlands, grasslands, and fertile riverbeds nestled between Mount Kenya and the Great Rift Valley.
Spend three nights in one of the stunning Lodo Springs set in the middle of 20,000 hectares (50,000 acres) of preserved land. The plateau’s natural beauty is complemented by a wellness culture that extends to the soil, the environment, and the local community, and game viewing is diverse – the area supports a plethora of endangered species as well as healthy densities of lion, leopard, cheetah, and elephant – and the natural beauty of the plateau is complemented by a wellness culture that extends to the soil, the environment, and the local community.
Then, head to the Masai Mara for a traditional Kenyan safari, including three nights at Sanctuary Olanana overlooking the game-rich savanna below, which is filled with subtle cues that celebrate the much-loved novel and film. You can even have an intimate picnic on the crest of the kopje featured in the film.
