Bwindi Lodge

Perfectly located to track the forest’s famous inhabitants

Bwindi Lodge is perfectly located on the misty green slopes of a valley close to the Buhoma gate of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to track the forest’s famous inhabitants and experience the local community.
There are eight stone and timber guest bandas with glass fronts and thatched roofs strewn down the slope. Each has been handcrafted and has a private verandah with views out to the forests on the other side of the valley.
Locals till the volcanic soil in the hills up to the edge of the primeval forest, where wildlife such as chimps, mountain gorillas, and monkeys jumping from tree to tree can occasionally be seen from the lodge.
The main attraction here is gorilla trekking through the national park. There are also numerous hikes and trails to waterfalls and tea plantations, as well as community tours where you can meet the locals. Return to the lodge after a day in the forest for a complimentary massage, a drink by the fire in the bar, and dinner on the terrace.
