Sand Rivers Selous is ideally located for some prime game sightings, with views over a picturesque curve in the Rufiji River. Landscapes such as woodlands, lakes, and wide open plains are home to a variety of wildlife and provide opportunities to see some spectacular creatures. You will be well cared for and in the hands of some wonderful guides whether you explore the surrounding area by car, boat, or on foot. Lions and wild dogs are common sightings, and elephant tracks can be followed across the savannahs. Buffalo are in large numbers in this reserve and should be given a wide berth, but from the back of a vehicle, the sheer numbers that congregate will astound you.
There are five Riverside Rooms and three Hillside Suites available. The Riverside Rooms are all open-fronted and elevated on platforms to maximize your views of the river and the surrounding woodland. They are luxurious to look at and extremely comfortable, having been designed with a modern African touch. The Hillside Suites are extremely spacious and open plan, with their own private lounge area where you can enjoy some much-needed privacy. Each of these suites has its own private pool, which is extremely refreshing in the afternoon heat.
