The seasonal Kichaka Frontier Camp offers a true safari experience, with the entire operation frequently relocating to completely new areas of Ruaha, leaving no trace behind.
Kichaka has only three tents, which are simple but well-furnished and about as comfortable as they can be with their own bucket showers and toilets. A well-equipped mess tent sits at the heart of the camp, where guests can relax and swap stories over cold beverages and three-course meals while being attended to by a team of friendly and enthusiastic staff. With a maximum capacity of eight guests, you can be assured of a private experience in this remote wilderness, and Kichaka can also be booked on a private basis.
Discover the diverse wilderness of Ruaha on guided game drives during the day and at night, armed with a spotlight and high-tech thermal imaging devices for a chance to see lions on the hunt and a slew of other nocturnal rarities. Walking safaris are a Kichaka specialty and possibly the best way to immerse yourself in the bush, with guides who have spent decades traversing Africa’s wilds. The camp also has a powerful telescope for amazing stargazing.
