A small camp on the private reserve
Little Chem Chem is a small camp on the private reserve’s eastern edge that embraces the elegance and simplicity of a more traditional safari.
Six tents are far from basic, with en-suite shower rooms equipped with hot-water bucket showers and flushing toilets, as well as a study desk, rocking chair, and dressing room. Outside, you’ll find a private fire pit whose crackles, when combined with the sounds of the African wilderness at night, evoke a prehistoric sense of place.
Meals are served in the mess tent, but private dining is also available, with guests able to dine by the campfire. You can disappear for a private picnic lunch in the African bush for lunch.
Of course, game drives and walking safaris are the norm at Little Chem Chem, and there’s also the option to go on a sunrise drive or a night safari – a benefit of staying on a private reserve. Elephants, lions, and cheetahs can be found near the camp, and wildebeest and zebra calve during the wet season (December to March). For adventurous guests, there are hot air balloon rides available, too.
