Giraffe Manor, which was built in the 1930s, is conveniently located in south west Nairobi, just 20 minutes from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. This beautiful Manor House is located on 140 acres of pristine sanctuary land in one of Nairobi’s most beautiful suburbs. It’s ideal for a quick stopover in the capital city, with a quirky twist to add to the convenience. Furthermore, every guest’s stay directly benefits projects in some of the city’s poorest neighborhoods.
This lovely Manor is home to eight endangered Rothschild giraffes, who visit the house on a daily basis and politely ask guests for snacks! This up-close encounter is enchanting, and it’s a great way to start or end your safari in Kenya. The opportunity to visit a number of local attractions such as the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, Nyumbani Children’s Orphanage, and the Karen Blixen Museum (among others) is also available and is a great way to learn more about Nairobi.
This boutique hotel is designed in the style of a Scottish hunting lodge with a modern twist. The main Manor house only has six en-suite luxury bedrooms, each with its own distinct personality and tastefully decorated. Four brand new luxury bedrooms have just opened in the garden manor, providing a new perspective on these lovely grounds.
Each room is extremely comfortable, with subtle warm colors that create a homey atmosphere. Grand, four poster beds and large windows create an airy atmosphere that allows you to simply relax and enjoy your time in Nairobi away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Giraffe Manor is well known for its excellent cuisine, which is served in the wood paneled dining room with views of the gardens. Breakfast is the most important part of your visit because this is when the Giraffe are at their most curious!
