An oasis of peace and calm

Home » Destinations » Kenya » Kenyan Coast » Hemingways Watamu
Hemingways Watamu is a mid-sized game-fishing base and resort hotel on Turtle Bay beach in Watamu, two hours’ drive north of Mombasa. It was formerly popular with British visitors. Its name is derived from Ernest Hemingway’s stay in Malindi in 1934.
Every one of the 76 beautifully appointed rooms at the Hemingways offers breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and the endless white sandy beach of Watamu Marine Park. Air conditioning, free broadband and Wi-Fi Internet access, ceiling fans, a telephone, an in-room safe, tea and coffee-making facilities, a fully stocked minibar, and a hairdryer are among the room amenities.
