Satao Elerai Camp
A community project that has been in the works for quite some time

Satao Elerai Camp is situated on a 5000-acre private conservation area south-east of Amboseli National Park in a peaceful, unspoiled setting. The camp is in a fantastic location, looking down on Amboseli National Park in one direction and up to Mount Kilimanjaro in the other.
It is a community project that has been in the works for quite some time. Satao Elerai, The African Wildlife Foundation, and the Elerai community collaborated on the project. The idea is to provide a sustainable income from tourism to the Maasai community in the area while also attempting to ensure that it is in the community’s best interests to protect the wildlife for future generations. For many years, human-wildlife conflict has been a problem in Amboseli, and it is projects like these that can ensure that communities begin to benefit from wildlife and invest in protecting and securing their future for their own benefit.
One of the most significant advantages of Satao Elerai Camp is that it is located on its own conservation area, allowing clients to view wildlife in a private setting. In addition to daytime game drives, you can explore the bush on game walks on the conservancy, go on night time safaris (activities not available to lodges within the park), and visit the local community.
