Amboseli Porini Camp

A feel of a traditional hunting bush camp but with the comforts of a lodge

Home » Destinations » Kenya » Amboseli National Park » Amboseli Porini Camp
The Amboseli Porini Camp is located within a 15,000-acre private game reserve owned by the Maasai Kisonko clan. Aside from the sought-after lion, cheetah, and elephant, the Selenkay Conservation Area is home to a diverse range of game. Striped hyenas and smaller cats such as civets and the African wildcat can also be seen in this spectacular habitat.
With only nine basic but spacious tents, the camp has the feel of a traditional hunting bush camp but with the comforts of a lodge, such as proper beds and flush toilets. Sleeping under canvas gives the impression of being in the wilderness, and the sounds of the bush do penetrate the walls and lull you into a peaceful slumber. Much of the emphasis here is on the community that owns the land, and the camp offers you the opportunity to walk into the bush with your own Maasai warrior to discover their homes in the nearby villages. Aside from the fascinating lifestyle of these ancient people, you will have the opportunity to witness some truly magnificent game.
The camp’s location is ideal for drives into the larger Amboseli National Park, which allows for an exciting picnic lunch. The privacy of the conservancy, on the other hand, is an added bonus, and you can get to know your guide and tracker as you set off on your night drive through the bush in search of East Africa’s elusive nocturnal creatures.
