Days 1-2: Entebbe:
Your journey begins in Entebbe, where you will spend one night before embarking on your adventure the next day. Relax by the pool’s turquoise waters, visit the nearby botanical gardens, or enjoy dinner with a view of Lake Victoria.
Accommodation:
- Protea Entebbe (1 night)
Days 2-4: Kibale:
This morning, you will take a private transfer to Kibale, passing through interesting towns and villages. In Kibale, you will have the opportunity to trek through the forest in search of the forest’s most famous inhabitant, the chimp. Explore the paths of the forest with your expert guide, keeping an eye out for chimps, bush pigs, and forest elephants. Explore Bigodi Swamp in search of a variety of monkeys and the great blue turaco, as well as many other bird species.
Accommodation:
- Kyaninga Lodge (2 nights)
Days 4-6: Queen Elizabeth:
Drive up to Queen Elizabeth National Park from Kibale and make your way to the Ishasha region, which is located in the park’s remote southern sector. This woodland area, which is drier than the park’s north, is home to the magnificent tree-climbing lion. Here, you can go on a safari in the comfort of your own vehicle, looking for elephants, buffalo, and, of course, the park’s lion. Other activities include a cruise on the Kazinga channel, which is home to an abundance of hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and birds, as well as intimate bush breakfasts and dinners.
Accommodation:
- Ishasha Wilderness Camp (2 nights)
Days 6-9: Bwindi:
After a final game drive, travel to Uganda’s south-western corner and the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, which is home to the infamous mountain gorilla. Bwindi is one of the few places in the world where you can trek to see the elusive mountain gorilla in its natural habitat, as it is home to roughly half of the world’s population of this endangered species. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to observe families interacting and infants playing in their forest home. When you’re not trekking gorillas, learn about the vibrant local community that borders this National Park on an educational village visit or go for nature walks in the dense, lush forest.
Accommodation:
- Buhoma Lodge (3 nights)
Days 9: Departure:
Transfer from your lodge to Bwindi airstrip and board your light aircraft flight to Entebbe Airport for your flight home.
